The third lunar mansion associated with fire, courage, and purification ends Aries 26*40' - 30*00' to 10*00' beginning Taurus. This nakshatra is symbolically represented as the razor or blade which indicates it's cutting and decisive nature. Ruled by the fire god Agni, it gives another level of meaning transformation into material formation, or directive into form. This position takes the seed nurtured in Bharani (previous) nakshatra to evolve. Primarily driven by Kama- desire, the evolutionary forces within desire create courage, and seeks perfection and harmony.

Krittika literally means “the cutter” or “the critical one”; its symbol is a sharp blade or knife, representing discernment, precision, and the power to separate truth from illusion.
